Trying a new studio or gym can be overwhelming - not at Barre West. Once you step through the doors you’ll be given a full studio tour, we’ll explain what to expect for your first class or appointment, show you where to store your things and introduce you to the team and community.

It feels different than most places, because it is. As much as we love working out together, it’s our connection with you that’s the heartbeat of everything we do.

What to expect

  • Our fitness program offers Barre, Mat Pilates & Strength Training classes friendly for all levels of fitness. Every class progressively layers exercises to meet you where you’re at. Needing to go slow? We got you, modifications are offered in every class and we encourage you to take breaks to rest whenever you need. Want to level up? We got you too - a variety of weights, props & progressions will help you take your strength to the next level.

  • Your instructors are trained to help you thrive. Something moving too fast? Does a movement feel off? Want a tip on advancing your workout? Teachers arrive 15 minutes prior to class time and are there to help you get the most out of your class. Feel free to ask for a complimentary 5 minute consult before or after class.

  • Wear clothes you’re comfortable exercising in, bring a water bottle & grip socks. Stickies on the bottom of your socks are to keep you safe from slipping & the studio mats clean (grip socks are required for all classes & available for purchase in studio). We provide mats, equipment and towels - no need to bring any of those!

  • Support your pre + postnatal journey with safe, guided movement designed for new moms. These workshops focus on strength, mobility, and community to help you feel confident and supported throughout your prenatal & postnatal journey.

  • Our red light therapy sessions support muscle recovery, reduce inflammation, and promote overall wellness. This non-invasive treatment uses low-level red and near-infrared light to help your body repair and recharge making it the perfect complement to your fitness routine.

  • The studio is equipped with premium amenities: complimentary lockers & towel service, filtered water station, & change rooms equipped with showers. We have 50+ free studio front parking stalls available. You’ll never have to search for a spot or pay for parking! The studio is located in the Marshall’s shopping centre off Macleod Trail, just south of Chinook mall.

  • Etiquette is key for community. Arrive at least 5 minutes before class (late arrivals are not accepted & doors may be locked at class start time). Leaving early is not permitted, please stay for the whole class. We love to chat and joke around, but please refrain from speaking over your instructor throughout class. Turn off the world for the hour and keep cell phones silenced or out of the studio.
